Before coming to Faith Regen Foundation (FRF), our client was a full time housewife who did not have any formal qualifications, had not worked in the UK nor had the opportunity to learn English. She had not used public transport before as she did not need to. During her first few appointments, she found it difficult to locate our office since she did not understand the nature of buses and trains for example. With support from her advisor she now confidently uses a bus to her weekly appointments and is able to plan a journey without any help and fear of getting lost. The client was helped to access local services that she had previously not known were there for her and attended ESOL classes held at FRF and at a local college achieving 3 accredited qualifications.
Client did not know how to switch on or use a computer and apply for jobs online independently. She is now proficient in using online websites to apply for jobs as well as using her email account to send her CV's to potential employers.
Client feels that FRF have helped her immensely as she is now able to carry out daily tasks with confidence. She is more independent, less isolated and is now engaged with her local community. Her English language skills have improved and she is happy to speak in English to our bilingual staff who speak her mother tongue.
